• 30 June 1902: New main library dedicated at Fourteenth Street



• 11 November 1905: Oakland Chamber of Commerce established



• 18 April 1906: Thousands of refugees arrive in Oakland after Great San Francisco earthquake



• 1908: Republican convention held in Oakland



• 08 December 1909: Claremont, Fruitvale, Melrose, Fitchburg and Elmhurst communities incorporated into Oakland proper
