- 11 November 1905: Oakland Chamber of Commerce established
- 18 April 1906: Thousands of refugees arrive in Oakland after Great San Francisco earthquake
- 1908: Republican convention held in Oakland
- 08 December 1909: Claremont, Fruitvale, Melrose, Fitchburg and Elmhurst communities incorporated into Oakland proper
